KIRKLAND, Wash., May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Xevo today announced an exciting collaboration with Lexus. Xevo’s Journeyware technology will be live in all Lexus vehicles with the Enform App Suite 2.0 system, including the hotly anticipated Lexus LC 500. Xevo’s technology will safely connect Lexus drivers and their cars to mobile applications and services, delivering a smarter, richer, more interactive in-car experience.
“We are thrilled to work with Lexus to enhance its luxury vehicles with connectivity systems of equal caliber,” said Dan Gittleman, CEO of Xevo. “Seamless connectivity is a key competitive advantage for manufacturers today—it’s what consumers expect, and Lexus drivers will be able to more easily interact with their favorite mobile apps and services.”
Enform App Suite 2.0
Enform App Suite 2.0 is the multimedia system for luxury Lexus vehicles. Powered by Xevo Journeyware, Lexus vehicles with the Enform App Suite 2.0 system will offer improved connectivity and entertainment.
The Enform App Suite 2.0 offers access to a selection of popular mobile apps such as iHeartRadio, NPR One, and Yelp, as well as exclusive Lexus apps like Fuel Prices, Sports and Stocks. And in select Lexus vehicles, the hands-free advanced voice recognition system, powered by Voicebox, makes accessing and controlling the App Suite’s features even easier and safer for drivers.
“Lexus is committed to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to in-vehicle technology,” said Sandy Lobenstein, Vice President of Connected Strategy and Product Planning for Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) and Executive Vice President, Business Planning and Strategy for Toyota Connected. “Xevo’s powerful Journeyware car solutions are a perfect fit for Lexus because they ensure in-car connectivity is as robust and enjoyable to use as the vehicles are to drive.”
Xevo Journeyware technology will complement the high-performance design of the Lexus LC 500 by connecting drivers to mobile applications, content and services, allowing them to integrate their digital lifestyles and in-car experience.
Lobenstein went on to say, “The LC 500 is a car for car enthusiasts, people who buy this car expect an amazing experience with high-quality, intuitive technology. Partnering with Xevo enables Lexus to ensure that these discerning drivers are just as thrilled with the software as they are the hardware—that the entire driving experience is elite from beginning-to-end.”
All Lexus vehicles with Xevo technology will also come equipped with voice-enabled content services and navigation through Xevo’s long-standing partnership with Voicebox. Voicebox Technologies is the award-winning innovator of Contextual Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and has worked with Xevo for years to build solutions that create seamless, voice-enabled, cross-device experiences in cars. Voicebox’s technology leverages the link between phone and vehicle provided by Xevo’s Journeyware to create a unifying Voice Interface, so drivers can easily, safely and securely access mobile services and applications while driving with minimal distraction.
“Voicebox is proud to provide voice recognition and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) for all Enform App Suite applications, using our unique Hybrid Architecture which significantly enhances the in-car voice experience,” said Sam Menaker, VP of Customer Engineering. “Through Lexus and Xevo’s Journeyware car solutions, we are delivering a richer and more dynamic user experience.”
